Club History

60/61Airport West C.C. formed – 1 Senior A Grade team, 1 U/16 team – playing first season at Melrose Drive Reserve, Tullamarine.

61/62Airport West C.C. – 2nd XI team established. Club now playing at Hansen Reserve (which is the ground now known as the Etzel Street oval).

1963St.Christophers C.C. formed – playing on the school parish oval.

63/64Airport West C.C. 1st XI ‘A’ Grade premiers – first premiership for the club.

65/66Airport West C.C. 1st XI ‘A’ Grade premiers – second premiership for the club.

65/66St.Christophers C.C. U/16 premiers – first premiership for the club.

67/68Club commences playing home matches on the new ground off Clydesdale Road (now known as Hansen Reserve). Council build upgraded pavilion used for the new ground.

67/68Airport West C.C. – U/14 team established.

69/70Airport West C.C. commences playing home matches on the new ground off Clydesdale Road (now known as Hansen Reserve). Council build upgraded pavilion used for the new ground.

1971Airport West C.C. – 3rd XI team established.

1974Airport West C.C. – Ladies cricket team established.

79/80Airport West C.C. – Gary Thomas wins his 6th A Grade batting average.

79/80St.Christophers C.C. – Jack Hogan wins his 6th A Grade batting average. Jack also won an APWCC A Grade average.

79/80St.Christophers C.C. – 1st Senior Premiership - 'G' Grade.

80/81Airport West C.C. – 1st XI Luscombe Shield ‘A’ Grade Premiers.

81/82Airport West C.C. – 1st XI Luscombe Shield ‘A’ Grade Premiers – ‘back to back’.

82/83Airport West C.C. – 4th XI team established.

83/84Airport West C.C. – 5th XI team established.

85/86Airport West C.C. proudly moves into modern, new clubrooms located between Hansen Reserve & Etzel Street oval.

85/86Clubs use synthetic matting for the first time, replacing traditional hessian matting.

85/86St.Christophers C.C. 1st XI win Luscombe Shield ‘A’ Grade Grand Final defeating Airport West C.C. by 1 run, with 1 wicket in hand, off the last ball of the match. This was a magnificent match that highlighted the great rivalry between the two proud clubs.

87/88Airport West C.C. – Ron Euesdon wins his 7th A Grade bowling average.

89/90Airport West C.C. moves to turf competition – EBKCA Giddings Shield. 1st & 2nd XIs play matches at the Northern Metropolitan College of TAFE  (NMCT) oval located in Parkville.

90/91St.Christophers C.C. – 1st XI Luscombe Shield ‘A’ Grade Premiers.

92/93Airport West C.C. and St.Christophers C.C. amalgamate to form Airport West St.Christophers Cricket Club.
Five senior teams and four junior teams representing 'new' club.

92/93Airport West St.Christophers C.C. join Victorian Junior Cricket Association – 1st & 2nd XI playing on turf, still at the NMCT oval in Parkville.

92/93Airport West St.Christophers C.C. wins 3 premierships – 1st XI, 2nd XI & 3rd XI in its first year of amalgamation. 

93/94New turf wicket area installed on Etzel Street Oval – 1st & 2nd XIs commence playing home matches on Etzel Street Oval.

96/971st XI wins Victorian Turf Cricket Association (VTCA) North B1 premiership.

98/993rd XI joins VTCA, playing turf cricket on Etzel Street oval, on Sundays.

98/993 junior premierships in the one season – U/16D, U/14A and U/14D.

99/00New Etzel Street training nets constructed.

00/014 senior premierships in one season – 1st XI, 3rd XI, 4th XI & "Twilight" competition.

02/034th XI joins VTCA, playing turf cricket on Etzel Street oval, on Sundays.

03/041st XI promoted to VTCA Senior A division after strong performances in previous season. 4th XI premiers.

05/067 Senior teams playing cricket (club record) – 4 Turf, 3 Synthetic. 3rd XI premiers - undefeated season. Glen Jones wins his 6th club champion award.

05/06Entrances to the Hansen Reserve sporting complex renamed Trevillian Way and Butler Way in honour of two of the Airport West Cricket & Football Club's greatest volunteers, Laurie Trevillian & Ian Butler.

06/077th XI "Old & Rusties" Premiers. U/16Bs Premiers.

07/081st XI Premiers VTCA Senior A division; promoted to Senior Division. U/14s Premiers.

08/09Inaugural season in the VTCA Senior Division - finished Runners-Up.

09/10New Etzel Street training nets constructed. 1st XI again finishes Runners-Up in VTCA Senior Division.

09/10Club commences relationship with the Papua New Guinea Cricket association - PNG international players playing a season with APWSTC. PNG Captain Chris Amini wins APWSTC batting average.

10/113rd XI Premiers. 5th XI "Veterans" Premiers.

13/14Capital works upgrade to Clubrooms pavilion. Refurbishment & extension to changerooms, incl. new boardroom, verandahs & social room entrances.

15/164 premierships in the one season – 3rd XI, U/16E, U/14D and U/12(2)s Fri.

16/173rd XI Premiers "Back-To-Back". 4th XI Premiers.

17/183 premierships in the one season – 4th XI "Back-To-Back", U/14C and U/12(1)s Fri.

19/203 premierships in the one season – 4th XI, U/14B and U/12(2)s Fri.

20/213 premierships in the one season – 2nd XI, 4th XI (The Fifth 4th XI premiership in a row), 5th XI (Veterans).

21/22 4th XI Premiers - The Sixth 4th XI premiership in a row (16/17 - 21/22).
